As I begin the countdown to my 50th birthday this Christmas Day, I reflect on the top things I have learned over the years. I thought I would share them with you, and I hope you enjoy them.

The Top 10
- There are more good people than bad people in the world.
- Bad things happen to good people.
- Each of us is stronger than we think.
- It is amazing how much you can love someone else’s child. So from my oldest to my youngest – I love you and am proud of you!
- It is not what you said, or what you meant by what you said, it is about how the other person interprets or perceives what you said.
- Each person has their own struggle, do not judge them.
- It is not always about you.
- There is always another bus at the bus station, so if you are not enjoying the ride, get on a different bus.
- Attitude is everything.
- Always love first, then laugh, then dance.
The Other 10 Things I Learned
- Being diagnosed with RSD was not the worst news I have experienced, although it is in the top three.
- When you look in a mirror, keep in mind that you are looking at the person responsible for your life, your health, and your happiness. Manage it wisely!
- God does not make any junk; He made each of us unique. For those who believe, know that he is always with you, so lean on him.
- Animals and children truly are a gift and a blessing.
- Giving is rewarding, especially when you expect nothing in return.
- All people really need to know is that someone is there to help them and to love them, should they need it. Remember to make sure others know you are there for them.
- No matter what job you are doing, do it well. Your name is attached to it.
- The only thing we have that we can fully control is our word. Make commitments and promises you plan to keep.
- Music is the key to memories.
- Santa brought me, at least that is what my mom always told me!
Have a wonderful life, which was one of my favorite movies, and remember to be thankful for the things you have every day.
